As disciples of Jesus, we are His missionaries. We define a missionary as one who is sent by Jesus, through the church, to carry out the mission of God in the world. Jesus called us from the world into His body (the church), and has sent us from the church back into the world to share the Good News that we ourselves have received. Thus, a missionary is not defined by where he is sent, but by who does the sending. We are called to be missionaries in our homes, our neighborhoods, our community, our country, and also the rest of the world.
