The reality of the human condition is that we are broken people living in a broken world. Suffering, struggle,
the powers of darkness and evil are real and experienced daily in our lives! Often, when suffering and pain
come, we ask, “Why?” We may look at our lives or at the lives of others and ask the question that people of
faith have asked for generations: “Why do the wicked prosper and the innocent suffer in an orderly universe
created by a just God?” Does God care? Is God in control?
The Book of Job is profound in its discussion of these questions: the questions of pain, suffering, and the
power of God in our lives. While the Book of Job does deal with the reality of suffering and evil in the world,
the Book of Job is not fundamentally about suffering. The book of Job is fundamentally about God—His
sovereignty, justice, goodness, and love.
This series will examine the message of the Book of Job and its relationship to the Christian life—particularly
the relationship between our circumstances and God’s love revealed in Jesus.
Bring your Bibles, bring your questions, and bring your desire to learn more about Jesus and His plan for you.
If your schedule permits, after the class, some of the participants head over to Spires Restaurant in Tustin for
