At Red Hill, our task is to make disciples of Jesus. Discipleship is first a response - a response to the call of God through the Holy Spirit to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior. Jesus made following Him possible through His life, death, and resurrection.
Second, discipleship is a life-long commitment to Jesus and His way of living. As such, discipleship encompasses our whole selves: Body, mind, spirit, and soul. Consequently, spiritual maturity, another way of describing growing as a disciple of Jesus, encompasses our thinking as well as our emotions. This is why one of our core values is to integrate emotional health with our discipleship. Emotional health and
spiritual maturity are inseparable.
Emotional Health flows from one’s identity in Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit transforming the deep places in the soul, where our true self, as created in the image of God,
exists (Matthew 5.21-48; Ephesians 2.11-22).
